So now I am writing this on my new gadget. It firstly arrived with an American plug…. Not the best start but that is the shippers fault at Amazon not Apple.

I then spent almost 24 hours setting it up trying to get online, whilst it immediately recognised my wi fi system it stubbornly refused to enter the ether.
There are no instructions included in the pack ,just links to the ‘support’ site, ingenious if you don’t know how to get there!
I asked three different male friends for advice ,all of whom have the same igadgets, one said look for the Mac number,I had, another said try putting in security…this cut my wifi for hours causing great panic as I had no way of getting back on line to remove that security, no password was given & I needed to program the said gadget, having an internet phone meant that was cut off too !
So, finally a panic call on my mobile to Switzerland from where the third friend reminded me of the ETHERNET cable … Magic I still had one from years ago, now back online I found the cause of the blockage & presto, my iPad is up & running.

Several things have impressed & depressed me about this venture, one the much vaunted Apps…so far I have refused to download any , this due to a matter of principle on my refusal to give credit card details for Free goods.I await a reply from Apple on this, two, the lack of information & the difficulty of finding ones way around, even for a Mac oficianado !
However, the iPad is everything it is said to be,even just the basics I have found, the amazing speed with truly innovative ideas, too many to mention here, but one I really like is the way I can place my thumb & middle finger on the screen & by opening or closing them the screen enlarges…or shrinks
I love the keyboard too, no need for two hands when needing capitals or making a smiley. 🙂
